The beach is one of the most wonderful places to hold a wedding ceremony. There is nothing quite like the sand under your feet, the ocean breezes, and the smell of the salt air. Such a special wedding calls for an equally special wedding gown. These are some tips on finding a gorgeous beach wedding dress to make you feel amazing on your big day.
No matter where you plan to get married, it is important that your wedding dress flatters your figure. If you hate clingy clothing in general, your wedding day is not the time to try to convince yourself that a sheath or column dress is great, even if most of the destination wedding dresses trend in that direction. That said, do keep in mind your surroundings; a full satin ballgown with ornate beading will look out of place on a beach and will also be hot as the dickens to wear. A-line silhouettes, which are universally flattering, are a good fullness if you prefer not to wear a bridal gown with a slim skirt. If you do have your heart set on a really full bridal gown, choose one in a lighter-than-air fabric like tulle or organza,and hem it to be floor length with no train.
Halter necklines are always fantastic by the water. They are not too formal, very flattering, and have a summery appeal which is great for any warm weather wedding ceremony. There are lots of different halter necklines available, from little wispy gowns which suit a fashion forward bride with very little cleavage, to more structured wedding dresses done in midweight fabrics such as silk gazar. If you choose a halter neck wedding dress, be careful not to get any conflicting tan lines during the days leading up to your ceremony
